UNSW invites public to Water Research Lab Open Day – free event

  • Get hands-on with interactive talks and workshops
  • Meet the experts behind UNSW’s world-leading water research

The UNSW Water Research Laboratory (WRL) is opening its doors to the public this Saturday (free event).

Media is invited to come and showcase the open day, at our unique, world-class research facility on Sydney’s Northern Beaches. Film or photograph inside our large labs, speak to our expert researchers and the public as they enjoy a day of educational fun.

Participate in interactive talks and workshops about topics such as:

  • Why do rips form in the surf?
  • What happens to all the sand on the beach in a storm?
  • How much water does it take for a car to float away in a flood?
  • How are dams, harbours and break walls designed?

And how do these things get tested?

The WRL’s Managing Director Associate Professor Kristen Splinter and other UNSW academics are available for interview.
