SYDNEY October. 7, 2024 – Condé Nast Traveller US and UK have today announced the results of their annual Readers’ Choice Awards, with Halcyon House recognised among the best hotels in Australasia — ranked No.4 by US readers and No.7 by UK readers.

More than 750,000 Condé Nast Traveller readers across both regions voted for their most memorable travel experiences worldwide. As the longest-running and most prestigious awards in the travel industry, the Readers’ Choice Awards are considered the ultimate mark of excellence.

Halcyon House General Manager, Laura Proctor, said:

“Celebrating our 10th anniversary this year makes this recognition especially meaningful. To be ranked in the Top 10 hotels in Australasia by both US and UK Condé Nast Traveller readers is the ultimate birthday gift. These awards are a testament to the dedication of our team, who consistently go above and beyond to create exceptional experiences that keep our guests returning time and again.”

A former surfer motel turned luxury boutique hotel, Halcyon House is one of Australia’s most distinctive coastal destinations. Located on Cabarita Beach in Northern New South Wales, the 22-room hotel is home to Paper Daisy, its hatted restaurant celebrated for confident coastal cooking that highlights the region’s exceptional produce and growing culinary reputation.

This year, Halcyon House unveiled its new wellness space, designed to complement its full suite of spa treatments and massage offerings. Guests can now immerse themselves in a steam room, take a revitalising dip in a cold plunge, or unwind in a Swedish sauna, creating a holistic sanctuary for relaxation and rejuvenation.

The award-winning boutique hotel has also collaborated with Australian-designed luxury outdoor furniture brand Business & Pleasure Co. to reimagine its terrace and legendary poolside this Summer as a Slim Aarons–inspired scene of poolside glamour. Known for vintage-inspired aesthetics, scalloped-silhouettes, brightly coloured cushions, and tassel-accented umbrellas, Business & Pleasure Co. has brought a fresh layer of leisure to Halcyon House for the Summer which kicked off on 1 October, creating the perfect backdrop for sun-soaked celebrations. Pistachio-green umbrellas flank sunbeds accented with peachy-pink cushions, coming together in a sorbet-pastel palette that channels retro charm with modern ease. Together, these pieces transform Halcyon House’s outdoor spaces into a birthday playground of jet-set glamour and effortless pool cool.

Just 15 minutes from Gold Coast Airport and 30 minutes from Byron Bay, Halcyon House is owned by Brisbane-based sisters Siobhan and Elisha Bickle and has become a multi award-winning destination for travellers seeking laid-back luxury by the sea.

The 2025 Readers' Choice Awards are published on Condé Nast Traveller's website at https://www.cntraveller.com/article/vote-readers-choice-awards and celebrated in the November issue
