Coles is turning up the spook factor with one of its biggest Halloween hauls yet, offering new ghoulish goodies, fearsome favourites and spine-chilling specials that will make it eerily easy for Aussie families to join the fun this October.

Fright night continues to gain popularity down under with more than 1 in 3 Coles customers planning to celebrate Halloween this year[1]. Young families remain at the heart of the haunt, with 2 in 3 families with kids under 12 getting into the spooky spirit.

Coles is serving up a new range of savoury spine-tinglers all under $10, including Coles Vampire Beef Burgers 2 Pack 300g ($8.00), Coles Monster Pepperoni Pizza ($8.00), Coles RSPCA Approved Chicken Spooky Spiders 400g ($8.00), Coles RSPCA Approved Chicken Bloody Vampire Wings 1kg ($8.00) and even a special ‘Kebabulas curse’ sauce ($3.20). With savoury food making the menu at 67% of Halloween parties last year, these are sure to be a haunting highlight at any gathering[2].

The spooky season remains treats galore with Coles confectionary sales topping more than 21 million packs in the weeks leading up to fright night last year. With over 1 in 4 customers planning to buy sweet treats and 45% of celebrating families planning to trick or treat, sales are tipped to reach similar heights in 2025[3].

Australia’s biggest sweet-tooth states have been revealed, with Coles unveiling the top 10 stores for Halloween confectionary sales in 2024. New South Wales claimed six of the top lolly-loving hotspots, while Queensland took three places and Victoria one.

To satisfy the spooky season demand, Coles has launched a new range of Own Brand Halloween treats - all priced at just $5. The lineup includes Gummy Sour Spiders (330g), Popping Candy Lollipops (135g), and Milk Chocolate Eyeballs (100g). Making a ghoulish return by popular demand are fan favourites like Gummy Body Parts (350g), Poisoned 4D Apples (300g), and 3D Gummy Eyeballs (350g), ensuring Aussie families have plenty of creepy confections to enjoy.

Coles is kicking off Spooky Week with fang-tastic savings on chocolate sharepacks, delivering great value for Halloween celebrations. Customers can enjoy 50% off popular treats[4], including all Cadbury sharepacks (120g–180g) and Mars Chocolate Fun Size (132g–192g), now just $3.50, down from $7.00. Nestlé Chocolate Fun Size (127g–158g) and Kinder Chocolate 16 Treat Share Bag (200g) are also on offer for only $3.75, previously $7.00. Whether you're preparing for trick-or-treaters or stocking up for a spooky night in, Coles is making it easier to share the sweetness without scaring your budget.

Pumpkins also remain a hair-raising Halloween must-have at Coles, with Halloween pumpkin sales set to spike 25% during the final week of October.

The showstopping Warty Gnome pumpkin ($5.00 each) was a runaway hit in 2024, flying off shelves and capturing the imagination of Halloween lovers everywhere. This year, it’s back by popular demand - proof that Australians can’t get enough of decorative pumpkins.

Joining the line-up for 2025 is the brand-new Mini Wart ($5.00 each), a pocket-sized pumpkin with the same quirky, devilish bumps, custom-grown for Coles by proud Australian grower Rombola Family Farms.

Traditional pumpkin favourites remain popular too, with Coles forecasting sales of 219 tonnes of Jack O’ Lanterns and over 98,000 Mini Jacks. Customers can unleash their creativity with giant Aussie-grown Jack O’ Lanterns at $3.50 per kilo, while the ever-popular Mini Jacks are available for $3.00 each – perfect for pint-sized carving fun.

New South Wales carved out the top spot as the pumpkin-loving champion with the most sales in 2024, followed by Victoria and Queensland.

Of those celebrating Halloween, 29% of customers will decorate their home and Coles has the frightful finishing touches covered – think Hanging Reaper or Pumpkin Man at $8.00, Spooky Animated Doorbell for $9.00 or a Trick or Treat Yard Stake for $3.00. And don’t forget the Halloween Pail for all the treats at just $1.

Adding a healthier twist to fright night, customers can pick up a bag of Zombie Mandarins for $2.90 each (excluding WA).

Senior Category Manager for Confectionary, Josh Tunbridge said Halloween is the biggest moment of the year for sweet treats, with this year’s range designed to keep up with growing demand.

“Halloween is where the confectionary aisle really comes alive. This year’s line-up is our sweetest yet, with new surprises like Gummy Sour Spiders and Milk Chocolate Eyeballs joining returning fan favourites,” he said.

“We’ve made sure the range is packed with easy and affordable options, perfect for every little monster, every party host and every sweet tooth this Halloween.”

Customers can find monstrous must-haves in-store and online via the Coles Halloween hub, with recipes and carving stencils on offer.
