The concept is simple, sustainable, and so Scenic Rim. Guests pre-book a picnic experience via peddlypicnics.com.au, collect their bikes and baskets from North Tamborine, and set off on a self-guided foodie trail, with stops that showcase some of the region’s best bites and sips. What’s even better – if your dog fits in the basket, they can go too!! From award-winning distilleries to mountaintop wineries and cafés serving true paddock-to-plate fare, it’s a day made for slow travel.

- Start (or finish) at Picnic Real Food Bar – a local institution owned by chef Brenda Fawdon, known for her nourishing, organic approach to food and her closed-loop sustainability system that turns kitchen waste into compost. (North Stores, 46 Main Street)
- Loborn Distillery – just next door, discover modern amaro made with local botanicals at this chic, locally born aperitif distillery redefining the Italian classic. Sip, learn and linger.
- Witches Falls Winery & Boxer Brewing Co. – two destinations in one! Enjoy wild ferment wines at Witches Falls before crossing the lawn to Boxer Brewing’s Kennel Tap Room for a refreshing local lager or crisp cider.
- The Cauldron Distillery – set on seven scenic hectares, this award-winning estate is home to the famed Five to Five Gin and the brand-new Australian Agave Spirits. Stay for tastings, tours, or a long lazy lawn session with pizza and cocktails.
