Local Manager Reports Minimal Sales Conversions from ChatGPT Traffic for Australian Services Company

Local Manager < 1 mins read

Sydney, Australia  Local Manager has completed a detailed analysis of website traffic and sales conversions for a national Australian services company, revealing that visits originating from ChatGPT resulted in minimal sales activity compared to major digital platforms such as Google and Meta.

In September 2025, the company’s website recorded 3,052,775 visitor sessions and 6,777 confirmed sales conversions. Of these conversions, 4,361 (64%) were attributed to Google, 1,685 (24%) came from Meta, and only three conversions were identified as originating from ChatGPT, representing just 0.04% of total conversions.

Conversion rates also varied notably by traffic source. Non-ChatGPT sessions delivered a 0.22% conversion rate, while ChatGPT-sourced sessions converted at just 0.07%, roughly one third the effectiveness of other traffic channels.

Carl Jones, Product Manager at LocalManager.com.au, commented:

“Given the almost minimal traffic from ChatGPT and its much lower conversion rate, it’s hard to recommend that businesses ‘optimise’ for ChatGPT as a sales funnel at this stage. It may be a bit early for businesses to focus on ChatGPT as a sales source. With the very significant installed base of users across Google, Meta, Microsoft, and Apple, platforms that consumers already rely on for research and purchasing decisions, it seems unlikely that ChatGPT will easily erode the dominance of these established ecosystems anytime soon.”
