Mark Jones available for interviews: burnout, mental health and why midlife men are struggling

Chuckle Communications 2 mins read

October is Mental Health Month, and with new research showing 6 in 10 Australian workers have faced burnout or disengagement in 2025 – one of the highest rates in the OECD – The Story Code author Mark Jones is available for interviews and commentary.

A journalist turned executive coach and speaker, Mark helps people understand why we burn out and how to rewire our brains for resilience by changing the stories we tell ourselves.

He is fantastic at talking about mental health challenges in a way that's relatable and helpful - through sharing his own story, and providing unexpected solutions to mental health struggles.

After suffering a panic attack in Bunnings one Saturday, Mark went on to have a breakdown - which was the catalyst for him rewriting his own life story and diving deep into the research around the power of our inner stories - the things we tell ourselves and how they can either hold us back or push us forward.

He’s available to speak on:

  • Burnout, disengagement and workplace mental health

  • Why midlife men in particular are struggling to find meaning and balance

  • The neuroscience of storytelling – how changing your self-talk can change your life

  • Real-life recovery advice: Mark’s personal story of surviving burnout and rebuilding purpose

Mark is based in Sydney and available for in-studio and remote interview opportunities.

MEDIA COPIES OF THE STORY CODE AVAILABLE UPON REQUEST.

NRL greats urge NSW men to speak up about their mental health to help prevent suicide

This International Men’s Day (19 November), Braith Anasta and Kieran Foran are throwing their support behind SANE’s Better Off With You campaign – an evidence-informed suicide prevention and mental health resource to help men in NSW stay in the game with their mental health and help prevent more lives being lost to suicide. A Decade of Recognition: 2025 Australian Mental Health Prize Winners Announced

This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Australian Mental Health Prize, a decade of recognising Australians whose leadership, research, and lived experience have transformed how we understand and respond to mental health. Since its establishment in 2016 by UNSW Sydney, the Prize has honoured advocates, clinicians, researchers, peer workers and community leaders who have changed lives and shaped national conversation. This milestone year celebrates both trailblazers and a new generation of change-makers.
