The Orion Group and SurveyPlus Announce Strategic Merger

Orion Group 2 mins read

The directors and shareholders of the Orion Group and SurveyPlus have announced the merger of SurveyPlus Pty Ltd with Orion Group, effective 1 October 2025. This development marks another significant milestone in the continued growth of both businesses, strengthening surveying capability, combined professional services and expanding a collective reach across Greater Sydney, Newcastle, Wollongong, the NSW North Coast, and Queensland.

Managing Director of the Orion Group, Philip Byrum said, “The merger of Orion and SurveyPlus is a fantastic step forward for both businesses at a time when well-resourced, responsive survey teams are in high demand. The addition of SurveyPlus, a business that’s been operating for over 25 years and recognised for its quality service, further strengthens the capability of our existing survey team.

“SurveyPlus’s strong leadership, proven systems, and commitment to delivering high-quality, efficient outcomes will bring significant value to our clients and create new growth opportunities for our people across NSW, QLD and beyond.

“Together, we are well-positioned to continue growing, providing market-leading surveying services across the industrial, residential, and infrastructure sectors. I look forward to working closely with the SurveyPlus team as we build on this momentum.”

This strategic alignment also supports Orion’s vision to strengthen its presence across regional Australia. Clients in these areas will gain access to expanded survey expertise, backed by the depth of a multidisciplinary consultancy.

Director of SurveyPlus, Jeremy MacCue, commented, “This is an exciting time for SurveyPlus and our entire team. The merger represents a strong synergy and alignment in our approach, culture and values, with a continued focus on quality, service and relationships.

“The value to our team and clients is exponential. Backed by a large, multidisciplinary group, we can now offer greater capability and deliver more value than ever before.”

Over the next 12 months, the SurveyPlus brand will gradually transition to Orion. During this period, both companies will continue to operate under the same company entities and projects will continue to be managed under the same contractual arrangements.

As The Orion Group continues to grow, its core values of integrity, reliability and quality service remain at the heart of everything it does. These principles continue to shape how we serve our clients, build relationships and create value for the communities we work with.
