Rental Affordability Index shows regional NSW in deep rental crisis

A fresh penetrating snapshot of rental affordability in regional NSW reveals the state is one of the least affordable places to rent in the country, and is officially less affordable than Sydney.

Journalists covering regional NSW are invited to join a strictly embargoed Zoom briefing by National Shelter and SGS Economics & Planning to unpack region-specific trends in rental affordability ahead of the release of the 2025 Rental Affordability Index.
