The media is also invited to attend the ‘Metro Youth Forum on Unaccompanied Children and Young People Experiencing Homelessness’ at the same venue on the same day.

The forum will bring together community organisations, sector leaders, researchers, and government representatives to explore how we can strengthen policy and service responses for children and young people experiencing homelessness without family support.

The event will feature Professor Catherine Robinson (University of Tasmania), a nationally recognised researcher and advocate in the youth homelessness field. Professor Robinson will present insights from her research and facilitate discussion on systemic challenges and opportunities to improve outcomes for young people in Western Australia.

The forum will also include a presentation on the Youth Homelessness Pre-Budget Submission, developed through the Indigo Junction, Mission Australia, and Vinnies Design Lab collaboration and supported by Shelter WA, WACOSS, YACWA and YHAC.
