Public Works Committee heads to Townsville to visit the Great Barrier Reef Aquarium and question the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority

On Friday, 27 February 2026, theParliamentary Standing Committee on Public Works(the Committee) will visit the site of the Great Barrier Reef Aquarium, and shortly after question officials from the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority and other stakeholder groups about the proposed redevelopment of the site. The proposed works are a key deliverable under the Townsville City Deal between the Commonwealth, the Queensland Government and Townsville City Council.
