PYBAR wins underground mining contract at Rosebery Mine, Tasmania

PYBAR 2 mins read

Underground metals mining specialist PYBAR, a Thiess company, has secured a three-year contract to provide underground mining rehabilitation and development services at MMG Limited’s Rosebery Mine in Tasmania.

The agreement further strengthens PYBAR’s relationship with MMG and solidifies PYBAR’s presence at the Rosebery polymetallic base metal mine, where it has been delivering a three-year shotcrete and cemented rockfill (CRF) contract since April 2023.

PYBAR General Manager James Glover said: “We look forward to furthering our work with MMG at the Rosebery mine, which directly contributes to Australia’s standing as a major global supplier of critical minerals.

“Our team is mobilising to site to commence work on this additional new scope, committed to quality outcomes.”

Thiess Group Executive Chair and CEO Michael Wright said: “We’re really excited by this contract award – it demonstrates the expanding services that Thiess companies continue to offer our clients, and our expanding focus on critical minerals.

“This contract win also strengthens PYBAR’s partnership with MMG on a project with a great history of success and acknowledges the underground mining expertise that PYBAR brings.”

Located approximately 300km north-west of Hobart, the Rosebery mine has been operating continuously for almost 90 years, producing zinc, copper and lead concentrates containing gold and silver payability as well as gold doré.

The high-grade ore extracted from Rosebery is essential for manufacturing, technology, energy, and construction industries worldwide.

Advance Metals (ASX:AVM) discovers shallow, high-grade gold east of Happy Valley

Advance Metals Limited (ASX: AVM) has discovered a new shallow, high-grade gold structure immediately east of its Happy Valley Deposit at the Myrtleford Project in Victoria’s highly prospective goldfields, intersecting coarse visible gold less than 50 metres below surface. The discovery was made in step-out diamond drill hole AMD016, which intersected a previously unrecognised quartz vein structure approximately 100 metres east of the historic Happy Valley workings. Assay results for the upper portion of the hole have confirmed the high-grade nature of the mineralisation, returning 0.6 metres at 66.7 grams per tonne gold from 51.3 metres, representing the shallowest gold…
