Victorian Chamber congratulates new Opposition Leader

The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry < 1 mins read

The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) congratulates Jess Wilson MP on her election as Leader of the Victorian Opposition and Sam Groth MP on retaining his position as Deputy Leader, welcoming a renewed focus on economic discipline, business confidence and statewide prosperity.

VCCI looks forward to continued collaboration with the new leadership team on the issues that matter most to Victorian businesses and will continue to advocate for policies that strengthen business conditions, boost investment, improve community safety and ensure Victoria remains a competitive and attractive place to live, work and do business.

To be attributed to Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chief Executive Sally Curtain:

“The Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry congratulates Jess Wilson on her election as Leader of the Victorian Opposition.

“We welcome her focus on issues that matter to Victorian businesses: sustainable economic recovery will only come from getting Victoria’s debt under control and the pathway to doing so cannot be built on higher taxes and charges on Victorian employers – business is not an ATM. A strong business sector is essential for jobs, investment and confidence and must be at the heart of Victoria’s future prosperity.

“We enjoy a strong relationship with Jess Wilson and Sam Groth who have been extremely engaged and accessible in their previous roles, and we look forward to continuing to collaborate on a better Victoria.”
