ANZGOG welcomes three new Board Directors, expanding expertise and strengthening governance to advance gynaecological cancer research

The Australia New Zealand Gynaecological Oncology Group (ANZGOG) is pleased to announce the appointment of three new Board Directors: Beth Slatyer, Catherine Whitby GAICD and Grace Chu GAICD. They will join ANZGOG's existing Board, comprising 12 esteemed leaders with deep clinical and research expertise. 

These new appointments bring diverse and highly complementary strengths to ANZGOG’s governance, spanning regulatory law, health policy, lived experience advocacy, digital innovation, strategy, and organisational leadership. Their combined experience will further support ANZGOG’s mission to improve the lives of everyone with a lived experience of gynaecological cancer through pioneering research and clinical trials.

ANZGOG Chair, Professor Clare Scott AM, welcomed the appointments and said: 

“We are delighted to have Beth, Catherine and Grace join ANZGOG’s Board. Their breadth of expertise, from regulatory law and health policy to digital transformation and lived experience complements the deep clinical and scientific knowledge of our existing Directors. Together, they will play a vital role in guiding ANZGOG’s next chapter as we continue to lead research that delivers real outcomes for women with gynaecological cancer.”

New Board of Directors  

Beth Slatyer 
Beth brings more than 30 years of experience in health policy and system-wide health improvement, including work with overseas aid and multilateral health organisations. An ANZGOG community volunteer and member of the Ovarian Tumour Working Group, Beth also brings the perspective of lived experience following her own ovarian cancer diagnosis. She is committed to ensuring all women diagnosed with gynaecological cancer have access to the best possible care, including personalised treatments.  

 

Catherine Whitby GAICD 
Catherine is a regulatory lawyer with extensive experience across health, aged care, and government sectors. She has advised Commonwealth health and social-care agencies on complex regulatory, governance, and policy matters, bringing expertise that strengthens ANZGOG’s ability to navigate evolving health system frameworks. Catherine’s career spans both Australian and international contexts, including leadership in the nonprofit sector in the United States. 

 

Grace Chu GAICD 
Grace is an entrepreneur, digital business leader, and board director with over three decades of experience across Australia, the US, and Asia. She founded and scaled one of Australia’s first digital performance marketing agencies, later leading Performics Australia under Publicis Groupe. Grace brings expertise in digital transformation, strategic growth, and governance, and serves on both corporate and not-for-profit boards. Her strategic and business leadership will support ANZGOG’s growth, innovation, and long-term sustainability.
