Choice Hotels Asia-Pac is strengthening its presence in one of Australia’s most dynamic urban centres with the launch of Gladius Hotels & Suites Parramatta to its upscale Ascend Collection Hotels.

The property has undergone a comprehensive transformation, unveiling a refreshed identity and elevated guest experience. Upgrades include redesigned guest rooms, thoughtfully curated communal spaces, and enhanced food and beverage offerings - all designed to meet the needs of today’s modern traveller.

“We’re excited to begin a new chapter as part of Choice’s Ascend Collection Hotels and to showcase our revitalised spaces to both corporate and leisure guests,” said Sumit Jolly, Gladius Managing Director. “As a recognised landmark of Marsden Street, Gladius Hotels & Suites remains deeply connected to the Parramatta community while embracing its new modern aesthetic. The redesign blends clean lines with soft tonal palettes and sophisticated detailing, preserving its Art Deco charm while delivering contemporary comfort.”

Sumit added, “From our first discussions, the Choice team have been incredibly supportive and enthusiastic in helping us elevate our property and brand. We love that we still get to retain our independent spirit while benefiting from the local and global reach of the Choice Hotels’ brand.”

Choice Hotels Asia-Pac CEO Trent Fraser welcomed the addition: “We’re thrilled to welcome Gladius Hotels & Suites to the Ascend Collection. Ideally located in the heart of Parramatta, it provides the perfect base for exploring the city’s vibrant entertainment and culture scene, while serving its thriving commercial district”.

“The property’s distinctive character and rich history embody what the Ascend brand is all about – memorable, boutique and unique stays. Its addition strengthens our footprint in Sydney and enhances the diversity of our portfolio.”

What’s new for guests:

  • Refreshed Lobby: An elegantly styled lobby featuring curated furnishings and lighting concepts that create an inviting, sophisticated ambiance.

  • Revitalised Guest Rooms: Design-forward finishes, upgraded amenities, and polished marble flooring in every room - chosen for its premium aesthetic and natural cooling quality, perfect for Parramatta’s climate.

  • Enhanced Comfort Options: A range of room categories offering private outdoor patios and spa baths, plus a dedicated Accessible King Deluxe Room designed for inclusive guest experiences.

Gladius Hotels & Suites Parramatta also joins the Choice Privileges program, Choice Hotels’ award-winning travel rewards program, where members can earn and redeem points for reward nights at properties across 7,100 Choice-branded hotels, spanning a diverse portfolio of brands in 46 countries and territories.
