Celebrate Hope This Christmas at Futures Church

Christmas is a season that reminds us of something the world desperately needs: hope.

"The loss of hope contributes to significant mental health challenges," said Pastor Josh Greenwood, Lead Pastor, Futures Church Australia. "When people lose hope, they lose their sense of direction and purpose. But Christmas reminds us that hope is not just wishful thinking, it's anchored in something real."

Over 2,000 years ago, hope arrived in the most unexpected way—a baby born in a manger, bringing light into darkness and promise into uncertainty.

"Hope changes everything. It changes how we face tomorrow, how we handle our struggles, and how we see ourselves," Pastor Greenwood explained. "The Christmas story isn't just about what happened then; it's about what's possible now."

This Christmas Day, Futures Church Paradise invites the community to discover the transformative power of hope.

"We believe that everyone deserves to experience the kind of hope that doesn't disappoint, the kind that sustains us through life's toughest moments," said Pastor Greenwood. "That's what Christmas offers, and that's what we want to share."

Polluting electricity retailers take from families’ pockets, while Aussies installing renewables are taking charge of their power

EMBARGOED until 6:30pm AEDT Tuesday, 24 February. Anew report from the Climate Council, Power Games: Who’s driving high power bills? reveals that Aussies are being ripped off, while big polluters line their coffers, in part by overcharging millions of us, punishing loyalty and in some cases misleading Aussie consumers. Expensive gas and unreliable coal clunkers drive spikes in prices that hit families and businesses where it hurts. The evidence is clear: without renewable energy, power bills would be even higher. Renewable energy is the only thing pushing electricity prices down, cutting $417 off the average household electricity bill in 2024…
