Emanda today announced it has closed a AUD $300k pre-seed funding round to back a smarter, always-ready way for business owners and advisors to value a business and prepare for due diligence.

Funding announcement

The pre-seed round is backed by M8 Ventures, Torus Ventures, Melbourne Angels, and a number of individual angel investors, and will be used to accelerate product development and go-to-market. The Melbourne-based startup is building a valuation and due diligence platform designed for the realities of modern small and medium businesses.

Problem and solution

Emanda addresses a pain that frustrates almost every business owner and advisor: understanding what a business is worth, what information is required to support that valuation, keeping that information current, and having it ready for a buyer’s due diligence at any time. The product is built from the founding team’s years in mergers and acquisitions (M&A) advisory, where they saw first-hand how fragmented and messy this process becomes.

The platform focuses on three core capabilities: a fast, transparent valuation engine that uses financial data and industry benchmarks instead of static reports; an AI-powered data room that files, sorts, labels and interprets key documents; and guided assessments that surface risks and opportunities in plain language for business owners.

Team and product

Emanda is led by cofounder and CEO Peter Gatt, a nine-time tech founder with six exits, including Blackbird Ventures-backed Hava.io. Co-founder and Head of Product Emily Grinton leads product and user experience, while Technical Cofounder Ben Ashby is responsible for the platform architecture, valuation engine, AI data room, and assessment systems.

The product is designed to reduce noise and “dashboard theatre”, focusing instead on tasks and insights that matter in valuation and due diligence workflows. Emanda connects to tools many companies already use, including Xero, HubSpot, and Google Drive, with integrations for Dropbox and OneDrive planned.

Traction and go-to-market

Emanda has moved quickly from prototype to MVP, then to beta testing with dozens of companies, and is now publicly available. The company has signed more than 50 referral partners, primarily accounting, legal and M&A advisory firms, and close to 180 customers are already using the platform, including firms such as Kofkin & Bond and Resilience Finance.

The team is also rolling out a reseller program, targeting more than 50 reseller partners during 2026 to extend Emanda’s reach through advisory and financial services channels.

Investor support

Investors point to the combination of deep M&A experience, repeat-founder execution and early customer traction as key reasons for backing Emanda. The M8 Ventures deal was led by General Partner Emily Rich, alongside Kane Templeton and Jason Atkins at Torus Ventures and Frank Walker at Melbourne Angels.
