End-of-year health check: be savvy, not spendy!

It’s that time of year again. The days are flying by, your calendar’s filling up, and suddenly it’s December 31 before you know it. But here’s a friendly nudge from Frank: your extras reset at the end of the year, and if you don’t use them… you lose them.

Think dental check-ups, physio sessions, remedial massage; all the good stuff that helps keep you feeling your best. You pay for your health insurance premiums, so why not make the most of them?

Frank Health Insurance brand manager Nick Ilievski said it’s about being savvy, not spendy.

“You wouldn’t pay for a gym membership and never go, right? Your extras cover is the same. If you’ve got benefits waiting to be used, they could make a real difference to how you feel heading into the new year,” he said.

“It’s not about cramming in appointments just for the sake of it, but about investing in your health now, so you can kick off 2026 feeling great.”

Frank’s tips for making the most of your cover before it resets:

  • Don’t dodge the dentist: a dental check-up could help with your overall health by preventing gum disease and infections that can affect your heart, diabetes, and other systemic conditions.
  • Sort out those niggles: physio, chiro, remedial massage… support your body by improving movement, reducing pain, relieving muscle tension, and aiding recovery.
  • Keep an eye on things: detect vision changes early, prevent eye diseases, and ensure your glasses are up to date for clear, comfortable vision.
  • Check your extras balance: it’s quick and easy on the Frank app.

So, before the silly season really hits, take a few minutes to plan some time for you. You’ll be doing your future self a massive favour (and getting your money’s worth while you’re at it).
