Lánluas Announces Leadership Transition as CEO Retires

Lánluas Consulting 2 mins read

Lánluas, the global independent enterprise systems consultancy for TechnologyOne customers, today announced an important leadership transition, with the company’s first Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Richard McManus, retiring. Craig McLaughlin, currently Government Practice Lead at Lánluas, has been appointed following a rigorous succession process. He will take up the CEO role starting January 1, 2026.

Richard has led the company for the past two years, guiding Lánluas’ evolution from a fast-growing start-up to a mature consulting business with over 45 staff located across three countries. Under his leadership, the company has expanded into the UK and Ireland, grown the client base by 15 per cent and increased revenue by 34 per cent. In addition, the company’s services have been streamlined into three key areas of project consulting, continuous improvement, and supported application services.

Lánluas Founder and Executive Director of Growth and Innovation, John Speed, thanked Richard for his enormous impact on the company. “Richard’s contribution to Lánluas cannot be overstated. His leadership has definitively shaped our identity, maturity, and culture, and created the platform that now supports our innovation agenda and international growth trajectory.

“As a former CIO on the client side and an enterprise software vendor before that, there was no one better placed to understand all sides of the ERP challenge and help develop the best strategies, business models and systems to support our clients and staff. Richard’s values-driven approach, highly approachable manner and solution orientation have positioned the business for long-term success, for which we are very grateful. We wish him and his family the very best of adventure in this next stage of their lives,” he continued

Richard McManus, outgoing CEO, said: “It has been an extraordinary privilege to lead Lánluas into this next stage of their growth, and I was delighted to help shape the end of their first decade in business and what the company looks like heading into their second. I’m proud of what we’ve built together and of the people who made it possible. As I step into what I hope is a very active and fulfilling retirement, I do so with full confidence in Craig and Lánluas’s future. He is exceptionally suited to take the reins and guide the organisation through its next chapter.”

Craig McLaughlin, the incoming CEO, added, “I’m honoured to take on this role and excited to continue the growth journey that Richard and John have created. Our focus remains on expanding our global footprint, deepening our innovation capabilities, and delivering solutions that help our clients all over the world achieve outstanding results with their TechnologyOne systems. I look forward to working with our people, partners and clients as we accelerate into this next phase.”

With a career spanning nearly 30 years, from IT software engineer to entrepreneur at Google partner BluePoint and Head of Strategy and Solution Design at ReadyTech before taking the Government Practice Lead position at Lánluas in May, Craig brings extensive experience in enterprise systems strategy, client focus, and product leadership, along with aptitude for innovation and building businesses.
