THE HON MATT KEOGH MP

MINISTER FOR VETERANS’ AFFAIRS

MINISTER FOR DEFENCE PERSONNEL

MEDIA RELEASE

2 DECEMBER 2025

TRAVEL TO UNITED STATES

Today I will travel to the United States of America to represent Australia at the Honolulu Leadership Dialogue.

The Honolulu Leadership Dialogue brings together parliamentarians, senior Australian and US defence officials, security experts and industry leaders to discuss the complex operating environment in the Indo-Pacific. It is convened by the Australian American Leadership Dialogue.

The Dialogue provides an opportunity to take stock of the depth of the Australia‑US Alliance across security, trade, defence and technology and to consider its significant contribution to a secure Indo-Pacific.

As part of the Honolulu Leadership Dialogue, I look forward to meeting with embedded Australian Defence Force personnel working alongside US personnel at Submarine Force US Pacific Fleet, Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam, and US Space Force - Indo-Pacific sites.

I will also undertake engagements with the leadership of US Indo-Pacific Command and US Pacific Fleet, and have the opportunity to visit to the Defense Prisoners of War and Missing in Action Accounting Agency.

Australia’s Alliance with the United States is built on an enduring foundation of trust and collaboration. I look forward to discussing how we can continue working together to maintain peace and security in our region.
