CIMIC Group company Leighton Asia has been awarded the main works contract for a data centre project in Johor Bahru, Malaysia. This award follows Leighton Asia’s successful delivery of data centre projects for the same client in Indonesia and India.
The project forms part of a greenfield campus development covering approximately 29 acres within a wider 86‑acre site. The facility will deliver up to 57.6MW of critical IT and network capacity across six colocation buildings, together with administration, operations support, security facilities and associated site infrastructure.
Construction is scheduled for completion in 2028.
