EU Village returns to the ACT’s National Multicultural Festival

Delegation of the European Union to Australia < 1 mins read

CANBERRA – Team Europe will once again come together to celebrate the colours, creativity, and culture of Europe at the National Multicultural Festival’s EU Village this Saturday, 7 February.

The EU Village will be officially opened by ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr, alongside EU Ambassador to Australia Gabriele Visentin, at 10am marking the start of a vibrant European showcase in the heart of Canberra.

Festivalgoers are invited to step into Europe and experience its colourful cultures through interactive activities, live music, games, prizes, and a taste of flavours from across the continent. Highlights include the ever-popular EU Passport Activity, where visitors can travel from stall to stall, collect stamps, and win prizes from the EU stand.

The EU Village brings together country stalls representing Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden, alongside non-EU partner countries Switzerland and Norway.

Through these stalls, the EU Delegation and participating countries offer visitors a chance to discover Europe’s traditions, creativity, and shared values — and to explore the strong connections between Europe and Australia.

Quote attributable to EU Ambassador Gabriele Visentin:

“The EU Village and the National Multicultural Festival are places where cultures don’t just coexist — they connect. At the EU Delegation, we are delighted to share the richness of our diversity with Australia’s capital, celebrating the traditions, stories, and people that bring us together.”

The EU Village is open to all festivalgoers and proudly forms part of the National Multicultural Festival’s celebration of Canberra as a diverse, welcoming, and inclusive community.

So come along, explore Europe, collect your EU passport and country stamps, and enjoy a journey across the continent — all without leaving Canberra.

The proposed changes: require retailers and embedded network operators to undertake a yearly check in with life support customers to confirm whether life support equipment is still…
