CANBERRA – Team Europe will once again come together to celebrate the colours, creativity, and culture of Europe at the National Multicultural Festival’s EU Village this Saturday, 7 February.
The EU Village will be officially opened by ACT Chief Minister Andrew Barr, alongside EU Ambassador to Australia Gabriele Visentin, at 10am marking the start of a vibrant European showcase in the heart of Canberra.
Festivalgoers are invited to step into Europe and experience its colourful cultures through interactive activities, live music, games, prizes, and a taste of flavours from across the continent. Highlights include the ever-popular EU Passport Activity, where visitors can travel from stall to stall, collect stamps, and win prizes from the EU stand.
The EU Village brings together country stalls representing Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden, alongside non-EU partner countries Switzerland and Norway.
Through these stalls, the EU Delegation and participating countries offer visitors a chance to discover Europe’s traditions, creativity, and shared values — and to explore the strong connections between Europe and Australia.
