Willoughby City Council is inviting older residents to get active, get creative and get connected this March with the return of the annual Seniors Festival.

Running from 1 to 31 March, the festival features a vibrant program of more than 35 free or low-cost events under the inspiring theme, ‘Live Life in Colour’. From hands-on art workshops and practical health seminars to social outings and live performances, the month-long celebration is showcases the energy, creativity and contribution of Willoughby’s senior community.

Willoughby City Mayor Tanya Taylor said the festival is a highlight of the Council’s cultural calendar.

“Our Seniors Festival is a wonderful opportunity for our older residents to learn new skills, make lasting connections and have fun,” Mayor Taylor said. “The ‘Live Life in Colour’ theme reflects the vibrancy, diversity and life experience of our seniors. We’re proud to offer such a broad and accessible program, made possible thanks to the support of our local community groups and partners.”

Program highlights:

  • Seniors Gala Concert (10 March): Our signature event returns to the Zenith Theatre with an energetic showcase of hits by Hitmakers 4 and talented local performers.
  • Seniors Pottery Class (16 March): A creative, practical workshop designed to encourage artistic expression and new skill-building.
  • Celebrating Seniors as Members and Role Models in our Community (17 March): A dedicated forum celebrating the experience and leadership of Willoughby’s senior residents.
  • Golden Girls Autumn Fashion Show (18 March): A showcase of seasonal trends and local style, celebrating elegance at every age.

The 2026 Seniors Festival is supported by a wide network of community groups, government services and residents, ensuring a program that offers something for everyone.

With many events expected to reach capacity quickly, residents are encouraged to book early.
