Key Facts:
  • Her Confidant launches Australia's first somatic intimacy programme, The Reawakening, designed to help women reconnect with their bodies and confidence
  • Nearly 50% of midlife women report poor sexual wellbeing, with many avoiding dating due to safety concerns and lack of meaningful connection
  • The programme includes sessions with sexologists, psychologists, and intimacy professionals, alongside a three-hour guided companionship experience
  • Developed with trauma-informed approach, the service offers personalised support and aftercare for women feeling disconnected from pleasure and intimacy
  • Led by qualified Australian experts, the programme aims to provide safe, respectful intimate experiences while complementing professional care

Her Confidant, Australia’s first and only female-led companionship agency for women, has launched The Reawakening, an Australian-first somatic intimacy program designed to help women reconnect with their bodies, confidence and sense of self.

Almost 50% of surveyed women in midlife reported having poor sexual wellbeing, with affected women more likely to be depressed, according to a recent Australian study. And many women are opting out of dating altogether, citing safety concerns, burnout, and lack of meaningful connection. The Reawakening invites women to prioritise their wellbeing, offering a guided, trauma-informed pathway for women who feel disconnected from touch, desire, or pleasure after years of stress, caregiving, trauma, or emotional overload.

Founder of Her Confidant, Anna Grosman, explains the need for the program:

“On the outside, these women are high-functioning and successful. But inside, many feel disconnected from pleasure, softness and embodiment. We see so many women who don’t feel like themselves anymore. A part of their being has shut down or become dysregulated through years of stress, caregiving or trauma. And there’s still enormous shame around women — particularly mothers and older women — wanting intimacy at all.”

Developed in consultation with Australian sexologists, psychologists and intimacy professionals, The Reawakening is delivered as a guided, multi-stage experience designed to prioritise emotional safety and aftercare as women reconnect with their sensual self.

The program consists of:

  • An initial discovery call with Anna

  • A 60-minute preparatory session with a qualified sexologist, psychologist or intimacy professional

  • A three-hour guided Her Confidant intimacy experience with a rigorously vetted, trauma-informed companion

  • An after-care catch-up with Anna to process emotions, embodiment and insight

  • A 60-minute follow-up integration session with the chosen intimacy professional to reflect on and embody shifts

  • Curated, personalised resources to support ongoing integration

The Reawakening is delivered in partnership with leading Australian experts in sexology, psychology, and self-image, including Isiah McKimmie, Laura Lee, Courtenay DuBois, and Natalie West.

Sexologist Isiah McKimmie says, “A lack of meaningful physical touch impacts our physical and mental health. Many women are now looking for alternative ways to meet their intimacy needs, but may not want to date. Access to a companion will allow women to access intimate touch in a way that increases physical and emotional safety.”

The Reawakening reflects a growing demand for intimate experiences that address the emotional and physical needs of modern Australian women, offering safe, intentional, respectful, and genuine connection. The Reawakening is not a prescribed therapeutic treatment, but a guided, wellness-based experience designed to complement, not replace, professional care.

About us:

Her Confidant is Australia’s only female-focused companionship agency built on integrity, respect, and genuine human connection. Anna created Her Confidant to offer women a safe, empowering alternative to traditional dating. The idea was born from a simple conversation among friends who expressed frustration over the lack of quality options for women seeking intimacy without commitment. Recognising this gap, Anna made it her life mission to provide women with a safe, respectful, and elegant solution.
