Queensland Country Bank invests more than $220,000 in communities across the state
Queensland Country Bank is proud to announce a record-breaking year for its Good for Good Community Grants program, supporting 16 community projects across Queensland with more than $220,000 in funding. From grassroots sport and education to wellbeing, culture and community connection, the 2025-26 recipients reflect the Bank’s commitment to putting people first.
This year’s funding spans the state, from Mount Isa in the north-west to Stanthorpe in the Granite Belt, and from coastal communities like Magnetic Island, Bowen and Maroochydore to regional centres including Cairns, Townsville, Rockhampton, Ipswich and Beaudesert. Each project has been selected for its ability to deliver practical, lasting benefits and strengthen local communities where it’s needed most. The 2025-26 Good for Good recipients include projects supporting junior sport and active lifestyles, like Parkside United Junior Football Club in Mount Isa, cricket clubs in Beaudesert and Ipswich, the Maroochy River Rowing Club, and community rugby league in Bowen, alongside initiatives focused on education, inclusion and early learning, including the Aboriginal & Islander Independent Community School in Brisbane and Roderick Street Community Kindergarten in Ipswich.
Community wellbeing and connection also feature strongly, with funding supporting organisations like DV Safe Phone in Townsville, Reading Out of Poverty in Cairns, the Magnetic Island RSL Sub Branch, Maleny Community Centre, Artworks Granite Belt in Stanthorpe, and the Gardening Community of Bowen, projects that foster safety, resilience, creativity and belonging.
“Our Good for Good Community Grants program received an overwhelming number of applications for 2025-26, reflecting an incredible commitment to community right across Queensland,” said Queensland Country Bank CEO Aaron Newman. “Funding requests more than doubled since last year, and we are proud to be able to provide over $220,000 in support – a significant increase from last year. It’s inspiring to witness the passion and dedication that exists within our local communities, and as a member-owned bank, we are proud to play a part in backing projects that strive to make a positive difference."

The 16 recipients include:
Innisfail - The Innisfail & District Show Society Inc.
Funding will enable installation of stables at the Innisfail Showgrounds
Mt Isa - Parkside United Junior Football Club Inc
Funding will upgrade essential training equipment
Cairns - Reading Out of Poverty Inc (ROOP)
Funding will provide 1500 literacy packs to new parents of low income backgrounds in the Cairns region
Townsville - DV Safe Phone
Funding will enable the delivery of DV Safe Phone Kits, a collaboration project with Queensland Country Bank Stadium and DV Connect
Magnetic Island - RSL Sub Branch Inc
Funding will purchase robust, quality marquees for the RSL and community use
Bowen - Gardening Community of Bowen Inc.
Funding will provide needed garden beds and tools
Bowen - Seagulls Rugby League
Funding will enable the installation of a needed solar system
Rockhampton - Scottvale Park Squash League Incorporated
Funding will enable needed facility maintenance and technology upgrades
Beaudesert - Beaudesert & District Cricket Association Inc
Funding will purchase an inflatable roller for rolling cricket covers up
Beaudesert - Queensland Country Women's Association Beaudesert Branch
Funding will purchase needed ducted air conditioning
Brisbane - Aboriginal & Islander Independent Community School
Funding will enable the Coffee Cart Program
Ipswich - Marburg Mt Crosby Thunder Cricket Club
Funding will allow for the installation of a permanent shade shelter at Tivoli Sports Complex
Ipswich - Roderick Street Community Kindergarten
Funding will allow installation of solar panels and an inverter
Maleny - Maleny Community Centre Inc
Funding will purchase a LED display board
Maroochydore -Maroochy River Rowing Club
Funding will purchase new sculls
Stanthorpe - Artworks Granite Belt Inc
Funding will upgrade and modernise the existing electrical system
Queensland Country Bank’s Good for Good program is open to eligible Queensland not-for-profit organisations, with grants available up to $30,000 to help deliver projects that will make a practical difference in communities. The next round of Community Grants opens 1 July, 2026.
