FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Wednesday 11 March

Probus in Australia is marking its 50th anniversary with a specially commissioned commemorative envelope, designed by internationally recognised Australian creative director Sally Anderson, in collaboration with Australia Post.

The anniversary envelope celebrates five decades of Probus in Australia supporting connection, friendship and active retirement for older Australians, and honours the organisation’s enduring contribution to communities across the country.

The design has been created by Anderson, an Australian-born designer who is currently Chief Creative Officer at global brand agency MetaDesign, based in China. The envelope design brings together themes of community, longevity and shared experience, expressed through the graphic ‘50’ typography, with a horizon line detail that reflects both Probus’ proud history and its ongoing relevance to future generations.

Over the past decade, Anderson has built an internationally-awarded career across Asia Pacific, leading complex and high-profile branding projects for global and regional brands including Taobao, Audi, Didi and Fiji Airways. Under her creative direction, MetaDesign has received multiple international accolades, including the highly prestigious Red Dot Agency of the Year award.

Speaking about the project, Anderson said contributing to Probus’ 50th anniversary was both a professional and personal honour.

“Probus represents connection, purpose and community - values that feel especially important as we reflect on how people stay socially engaged later in life. Designing something to mark Probus’ 50-year milestone, and seeing it released through Australia Post, is incredibly meaningful.”

Judith Maestracci AM Chair of the Probus Anniversary Committee, said the collaboration was a fitting way to recognise the organisation’s legacy.

“This anniversary is about celebrating people and the communities they’ve built through Probus over the past 50 years. Partnering with an Australian creative of Sally’s calibre, who has achieved such significant international success, allows us to honour our history while proudly showcasing Australian talent.”

The commemorative envelope has been produced in partnership with Australia Post, ensuring the milestone is recognised on a national platform.

We are proud that Australia Post has supported this commemorative release celebrating 50 years of Probus and its contribution to communities across Australia,” says Ms Maestracci.

Now on sale, the envelope forms part of Probus Australia’s broader 50th anniversary celebrations and has been released as a commemorative pre-paid envelope and available at selected post offices nationally and also available through the Australia Post shop (online).
