SINGAPORE - Cummins Asia Pacific will showcase its new K50 marine engine at Asia Pacific Maritime (APM) 2026, underscoring the company’s focus on delivering power solutions engineered for the operating conditions and customer needs across the region.

On the Cummins stand, the K50 will be featured as a solution designed and optimized to help commercial marine customers across Asia Pacific meet real-world duty cycles and environmental conditions.

The company said the K50 platform is configured with options aligned to regional operating profiles, with an emphasis on proven technology and serviceability.

The engine on display is expected to be one of 12 recently ordered by a local customer, reflecting demand in the region and the move from product availability to in-service deployment.

Marine is a growth sector for Cummins globally and across Asia Pacific. From propulsion to auxiliary power, the company provides scalable marine power solutions supported by engineering and service capabilities.

Cummins has more than 7,200 service locations worldwide and a maritime support network across Asia Pacific, combining global engineering resources with regional presence, the company said.

“Marine operators in Asia Pacific face unique environmental and commercial pressures, from high humidity and heat to demanding duty cycles and tight project timelines,” said Tim Worme, director of engines, Asia Pacific, Cummins.

“Our strategy is to engineer solutions for the markets we serve without compromising the global Cummins standards our customers expect.”

Engineered and validated to Cummins global standards, the K50 has undergone research and development aimed at durability, performance and reliability in demanding marine environments, the company said.

Specifications, ratings and configurations are tailored to vessel and mission requirements commonly seen across Asia Pacific, aligning the engine package to operating profiles and ambient conditions.

Cummins said the platform is designed to deliver dependable performance while avoiding unnecessary complexity, with a focus on proven technology that supports long-term durability.

Customers also have access to Cummins factory warranty coverage, genuine parts and the company’s service network, providing support throughout the engine’s life cycle.

Through regional manufacturing and streamlined supply chains, Cummins said it can offer competitive lead times to help customers reduce project delays and improve certainty around vessel delivery schedules.

“Customers choose Cummins not just for the engine, but for the confidence that comes with the Cummins brand — proven technology, global engineering standards, and the reassurance of warranty and service support,” Worme said.

Through its Destination Zero strategy, investment in fuel-agnostic platforms and a focus on marine-specific solutions, Cummins aims to support customers as they navigate the energy transition, the company said.

Cummins will display the K50 at Asia Pacific Maritime 2026 at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Visit Cummins at stand D-T20.

Asia Pacific Maritime runs March 25-27, 2026.
