Speaker of the House of Representatives < 1 min read

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, the Hon Milton Dick MP has announced the details for the issuing of the writ for the electoral division of Farrer in New South Wales, following the resignation of the Hon Sussan Ley.

The dates in connection with the by-election will be as follows:

Issue of writ                                      Wednesday 1 April 2026

Close of rolls                                     Wednesday 8 April 2026

Close of nominations                      Monday 13 April 2026

Declaration of nominations            Tuesday 14 April 2026

Date of polling                                  Saturday 9 May 2026

Return of writ                                    On or before Friday 10 July 2026
