Imam Kamran Tahir Calls for Promoting Social Cohesion and Harmony

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community < 1 min read

Imam Kamran Tahir, of Adelaide’s largest mosque, Mahmood Mosque, expressed concern about the way Islam has recently been portrayed in political discourse. He stated that Islam teaches the importance of upholding the law of the land, and that Muslims are required to remain loyal citizens of the country in which they live. A good Muslim, he explained, is encouraged not only to obey the law but also to contribute positively to society. Any claims suggesting otherwise are unfortunate and inconsistent with the true teachings of Islam.

Highlighting the importance of fostering social cohesion and interfaith harmony, Imam Tahir encouraged those interested in constructive dialogue to reach out via email at [email protected]
