Resolution Minerals (ASX: RML) identifies high-grade tungsten in U.S. stockpiles, advancing fast-track development strategy

Key Facts:
  • High-grade tungsten (1.85% WO₃) identified in historical stockpiles at Resolution Minerals' Johnson Creek Mill in Idaho, with additional gold grades of 0.11g/t
  • Approximately 2,000 tonnes of previously mined ore from Golden Gate Tungsten Mine remain largely untouched since the 1980s
  • Mineralogical analysis confirms scheelite as main tungsten-bearing mineral with low impurity levels, suggesting simple processing pathway
  • Project aligns with U.S. critical minerals strategy amid rising tungsten prices (from US$400 to US$2,200 per metric ton)
  • Company progressing towards JORC compliance through detailed sampling programme while exploring near-term production options

Resolution Minerals Ltd (ASX: RML; OTCQB: RLMLF) has identified high-grade tungsten in historical stockpile material at its recently acquired Johnson Creek Tungsten and Antimony Mill in Idaho, USA, supporting plans to fast-track potential production aligned with growing U.S. critical minerals demand.

Preliminary assay results from a late-2025 sampling program returned a tungsten grade of 1.85% WO₃ from a 93.6kg mini-bulk composite sample, alongside material gold grades of 0.11g/t and low impurity levels.

The stockpiles, derived from the historical Golden Gate Tungsten Mine and largely untouched since the 1980s, are estimated to comprise approximately 2,000 tonnes of previously mined ore.

Independent mineralogical analysis confirmed scheelite (CaWO₄) as the dominant tungsten-bearing mineral and identified low levels of deleterious elements, including arsenic (97ppm), with molybdenum and phosphorus below detection limits.

Resolution Minerals Executive Director, Aharon Zaetz, commented:

“Confirming a high-grade 1.85% WO₃ result from the Golden Gate stockpile is a significant milestone for Resolution Minerals. The combination of strong grade, scheelite-dominant mineralisation and low impurity levels highlights the potential for a simple, low-cost processing pathway.

Furthermore, given that Golden Gate has previously been mined for tungsten, and has supplied the US Government with critical metals for several war efforts during the 20th century, this presents a compelling opportunity to fast-track the stockpiles should further planned work prove positive.”

Strong alignment with U.S. critical minerals strategy

The results come amid heightened focus on securing domestic supply chains for critical minerals, with the U.S. Government progressing initiatives to reduce reliance on offshore tungsten supply.

Tungsten prices have risen significantly in recent years, increasing from below US$400 to approximately US$2,200 per metric ton, driven by tightening global supply and geopolitical factors.

Historical consistency and processing advantages

The identified grade is consistent with historical production from the Golden Gate mine, where prior operations reported grades ranging between approximately 1.5% and 2.03% WO₃.

The mineralogical characteristics of the stockpile material further support development potential, including:

  • Scheelite-dominant mineralisation, which is well understood metallurgically and typically easier to process

  • High quartz content, supporting favourable grindability and liberation characteristics

  • Low levels of impurities, enabling potential production of high-grade concentrate suitable for downstream refining

Clear pathway to JORC upgrade and potential near-term production

Resolution Minerals is progressing a more detailed sampling and assay program aimed at upgrading the stockpiles to JORC Code (2012) compliance, including:

  • Expanded surface and sub-surface sampling

  • Volumetric surveys to define stockpile size

  • Specific gravity analysis to determine tonnage

The Company is also assessing options for near-term offtake of stockpiled material while advancing process flowsheet development.

The Johnson Creek Mill and associated stockpiles were acquired earlier in March 2026 as part of Resolution’s strategy to establish in-house processing capability and become a U.S.-focused supplier of critical minerals including tungsten, antimony and gold.

Why does panic buying spread so fast among Australians?

As fears over fuel supply ripple through Australia, UNSW Business School experts say panic buying is driven as much byinstinctand expectationsas by actual shortages. When uncertainty rises, so does the urge to act. Panic buying has re-emerged across Australia as global tensions in the Middle East raise concerns about global andfuel supplychains, leading to long queues and spikes in demand at petrol stations. While similar behaviour was seen during the COVID-19 pandemic, UNSW Business School experts say the current wave is being driven more byperceptionand expectation than actual shortages. “Anytime there is fear and uncertainty, those emotions bring out more…
