Minister for Education, Training and Skills, the Hon Blair Boyer MP and Mr Dennis Hood MLC, Shadow Minister for Training and Skills will square off in a live, one-off debate on the Future of Skills Training in South Australia.

This facilitated, live debate will be hosted by the Independent Tertiary Education Council Australia (ITECA), as the feature of the 2026 ITECA South Australia Business Summit on Wednesday 11 March 2026 in Adelaide at the Playford Hotel.

The Business Summit will bring together senior representatives from South Australia’s skills and tertiary education sectors for a timely and important discussion on the future of skills training and workforce development across the State.

With South Australians heading to the polls on Saturday 21 March, the Summit provides a valuable opportunity for stakeholders to hear directly from both major parties on their vision for the future of skills, training and workforce development in South Australia.

‘This Debate comes at a pivotal time for the skilling of the South Australian economy, its business and communities,” said ITECA Chief Executive, Mr Felix Pirie.

South Australia is entering an unprecedented time of skills need in infrastructure, construction, health and care, agriculture, the beauty industry, hospitality and more.

‘ITECA is honoured to host this event. Bringing together the Minister and the Shadow Minister for a live, facilitated debate ensures our sector can hear directly about their plans, priorities and commitments, alongside insights from industry and workforce leaders.’ said Mr Pirie.

The Summit promises a full day of excellent speakers and panel discussions featuring insights from key leaders across industry and the skills ecosystem.
