Melbourne Victory and Committee for Melbourne unite to strengthen business and sport across the state

Committee for Melbourne 2 mins read

Melbourne Victory and the Committee for Melbourne have reaffirmed their partnership to lead, unite, connect, inspire and grow Victoria’s business and sporting communities, strengthening Melbourne’s standing as Australia’s sporting and business capital.

The Committee for Melbourne, sitting under the umbrella of the Victorian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), combines the strengths, expertise and resources of two member-based organisations - the Committee and the Melbourne Chamber of Commerce - with more than 200 years of combined representation and advocacy experience. Their membership offers exclusive opportunities to connect with future-defining experiences, thought-leaders, decision-makers and premium services aligned with business ambitions.

Melbourne Victory, through the renowned Victory in Business (VIB) network, proudly presented by AGL, has built one of Australia's largest corporate sporting communities, facilitating more than $225 million in transactions between member companies and creating powerful opportunities for connection through premium events, curated networking and match-day experiences.

Several organisations are proud members of both the Committee for Melbourne and VIB, including AGL, AIA and Crown, underscoring the strong alignment between Melbourne’s civic and corporate leadership.

Melbourne Victory Managing Director, Caroline Carnegie, said the partnership builds on the Club’s legacy of leading, uniting, connecting and inspiring through football.

"Melbourne Victory is proud to represent the whole of Victoria - and proud to partner with the Committee for Melbourne to strengthen the link between sport and business.

"Victory in Business is about more than a business network and has a broad appeal to Victorians. The VIB network is about creating meaningful connections and relationships that can help businesses from small and medium enterprises to large conglomerates, deliver real tangible outcomes for their staff, customers and partners – and in turn, benefits for their business, our members, our community and of course, our state.

Together, we’re building a network that connects people, creates opportunity and celebrates everything that makes Melbourne great."

Committee for Melbourne Chief Executive, Scott Veenker, said the partnership represents the best of Melbourne’s spirit, where business, sport and community come together to drive opportunity.

"Business and sport are both fundamental to Victoria’s identity and success. This partnership connects those worlds - from the boardroom to the pitch - creating real pathways for collaboration, innovation and growth.

"As we look ahead to a decade of global events and investment opportunities in Victoria, partnerships like this will ensure our city continues to lead the world in how we connect commerce, culture and community."

Together, Melbourne Victory and the Committee for Melbourne represent a powerful alliance of business, sport and leadership, united by a shared goal to grow Melbourne’s reputation as a connected, inclusive and globally competitive city.

The connection will provide a suite of wide-ranging offers for VCCI members, with further details to follow, recognising the continued relationship with Melbourne Victory Football Club.

Ends.
