Creative Australia and the Mordant Family are pleased to announce acclaimed artist Stanislava Pinchuk as the recipient of the 2026 Mordant Family and Creative Australia Affiliated Fellowship at the American Academy in Rome.
The Fellowship offers established Australian visual artists dedicated time, space and support to undertake ambitious new work within one of the world’s most significant creative and intellectual communities.
Stanislava Pinchuk is a Ukrainian-Australian artist whose practice explores data-mapping, information-mining, conflict topographies, and the legacies of literature and politics of translation.
Stanislava Pinchuk said:
“I am honoured to become an Affiliated Fellow of the American Academy in Rome, to find the extensive time and support to begin localised research and production works, and embrace the challenge of examining Roman posthomerica in such a dynamic and thorough academic environment.”

For more than 130 years, the Academy has brought together internationally recognised artists, writers, architects and scholars in an environment designed to foster creative development and cross-disciplinary exchange.

The Mordant Family and Creative Australia Affiliated Fellowship at the American Academy in Rome has supported Australian artists since 2016 through a co-investment partnership between the Mordant Family and Creative Australia.
Past recipients of the Fellowship include Lynne Roberts-Goodwin, Jenny Watson, Alex Seton, Barbara Campbell, Reko Rennie, Angela Valamanesh, Khaled Sabsabi, and Sally Smart.
