Tomorrow (Monday, 1 June) marks the beginning of Bowel Cancer Awareness Month - Bowel Cancer Australia’s signature event to raise awareness of Australia’s second deadliest cancer.
This year Bowel Cancer Australia reflects upon 25 years of impact as the leading national voice on bowel cancer, consistently championing what matters most to people impacted, and empowering everyone to live their best life.

Bowel cancer symptoms

The signs and symptoms of bowel cancer can include:
Blood in your poo
Obvious change in your bowel habit
Weight loss you can’t explain
Extreme tiredness for no reason
Lump or swelling in your abdomen

Our collaboration with Kleenex helps Aussies use their toilet time wisely. Across the country, Kleenex packs will include a ‘check your pooʼ reminder and dedicated poocheck.com.au support hub – helping to raise awareness of bowel cancer symptoms and encouraging Australians to take action.

Leukaemia Foundation labels Queensland Government’s review of the Patient Travel Subsidy Scheme incomplete

The Leukaemia Foundation has described the Crisafulli LNP Government’s announced fuel subsidy increase from 34c to 45c per kilometre as a welcome but ultimately incomplete step for regional Queenslanders who need to travel for life saving treatment. The Foundation is calling on the Queensland Government to deliver a long-overdue uplift to the current $70 nightly rate. Leukaemia Foundation Chief Executive Officer Chris Tanti warned that an 11-cent increase to fuel costs ‘barely touches…
