Family First has today announced that South Australian Legislative Council member Sarah Game will join the party.
Ms Game will then sit in the South Australian Parliament as a Family First Member, the first since the party was revived in 2021. Sarah will be the lead candidate for Family First’s legislative Council team in the 2030 State election.
Family First National Director Lyle Shelton welcomed Ms Game's decision, describing it as a boost for the cause of family, faith, life and freedom.
"I am delighted that someone so closely aligned with the values that matter to Australian mums and dads has chosen to join Family First. She has already shown herself to be one of the strongest and most courageous advocates for families in any Australian parliament." Mr Shelton said.
Ms Game said she was pleased to be joining Family First as it made sense to consolidate and unite values-aligned minor parties.
"Family First remains a viable and necessary minor party and I’m excited about joining forces and amplifying the voice of Australian families in Parliament."
Ms Game said her legislative priorities were diverse with an immediate focus on her bill this week to protect the lives of pre-born babies from late-term abortion, through the passage of the Termination of Pregnancy (Restricts Termination after 24 weeks and 6 Days) Bill 2026, which is likely to be debated and voted on tomorrow.
Ms Game also said she wants certain conduct criminalised if it causes the death of an unborn baby, such as a driving offence.
