FolioFox and Dettori Publishing are co-hosting a 90-minute pre-press workshop called *From Manuscript to Print* for self-published and indie authors.

The workshop is led by Ann Dettori, Founder and CEO of Dettori Publishing, who has experience supporting both traditional publishing companies and indie authors through her organisations Post Pre-press Group and Independent Ink.
The event was created in response to a lack of resources for self-published authors in Australia, with a 2025 Alliance of Independent Authors report finding that indie authors in Australia are earning more and growing at a healthier rate than traditionally published authors.
Authors will learn:
- The key differences and benefits between traditional, hybrid and self-publishing models
- The critical stages of the book production process, like editing, proofing, design, typesetting, formatting, marketing and printing
- How to collaborate with professionalism and insight with other industry experts, like designers, editors and printers
- Tools to help navigate protecting the work as an indie author
Attendees will receive a comprehensive workbook summarising key workshop points, along with tools and resources to support their continued self-publishing journey.
