Media Alert – advance notice

Monday 13 July 2026

U.S. film-maker, author and journalist Abby Martin touring Australia

Prominent US journalist and film-maker Abby Martin is touring Australia later this month with her new film “Earth's Greatest Enemy” described by Oliver Stone as “one of the most powerful documentaries I’ve seen on the modern American military.”

Abby Martin will be in Perth July 21, Adelaide July 22, Melbourne July 27, in Wollongong July 28 and in Sydney July 29.  She will be the keynote speaker at the Independent and Peaceful Australia (IPAN) National Conference whilst in Adelaide.

Abby Martin has been a national TV news reporter and anchor in the U.S. for a range of media outlets for several decades.  She is the author of three books and has made a number of documentaries, including the feature length “Earths Greatest Enemy.”

The film and speaking tour take place amid rising Australian opposition to the US alliance, the genocide in Gaza and the wars in Iran and Lebanon, and the announcement of a high-profile public inquiry into the floundering AUKUS agreement. Polling in 2026 shows growing public discontent with Australia's complicity in the United States government's increasingly violent and erratic global conduct.

"For many years, peace and anti-militarism organisers, arms trade activists, climate and environmental campaigners have worked in isolation from each other rather than working together," said IPAN National Chairperson Annette Brownlie. "This film tour is the catalyst bringing us together to confront a common enemy: the bloated and polluting military-industrial complex."

Abby Martin's tour is sponsored by IPAN and hosted by a wide coalition of peace, justice, climate and environmental campaign groups.
