Key Facts:
  • Villagehood has announced a new partnership with Birth Trauma Australia to coincide with Birth Trauma Awareness Week, connecting Australian mothers with support, education and community through the Villagehood app.
  • An estimated 1 in 3 women in Australia are affected by birth-related trauma, yet the topic is frequently misunderstood or not openly discussed.
  • The partnership aims to encourage more informed and compassionate conversations around birth experiences, whilst improving access to evidence-based resources and support.
  • Villagehood has observed that birth experiences are among the most common topics discussed at its local meet-ups, and acknowledges these conversations can be challenging for mothers still processing traumatic births.
  • The initiative seeks to equip mothers with the knowledge and tools to approach these conversations with empathy and understanding, with spokespeople from both organisations available for interview.

Hi,

I hope you're doing well.

To mark Birth Trauma Awareness Week, Villagehood is proud to announce a new partnership with Birth Trauma Australia, helping connect Australian mums with trusted support, education and community through the Villagehood app.

Birth-related trauma affects an estimated 1 in 3 women in Australia, yet it remains a topic that is often misunderstood or left unspoken. Through this partnership, we're encouraging more informed, compassionate conversations around birth experiences while making it easier for parents to access evidence-based resources and support.

One of the things we've noticed at Villagehood is that birth experiences are one of the most common topics mums discuss at our local meet-ups. While these conversations can be incredibly healing, they can also be difficult for parents who are still processing traumatic births. Together with Birth Trauma Australia, we hope to equip mums with the knowledge and support to navigate these conversations with empathy and understanding.

I've attached our media release with more information about the partnership and Birth Trauma Awareness Week.

If you'd like to speak with us or Birth Trauma Australia about this initiative, we'd be delighted to arrange an interview.

Thank you for helping raise awareness of an issue that affects so many Australian families.

Kind regards,

Brittany Bloomer
Founder, Villagehood
