Ditch the bath battles. Meet the wash cloth saving sticky kids (and your sanity), Top N Tail(TM)

Parent HAX 4 mins read
Key Facts:
  • Top N Tail™ is a rinse-free, self-foaming wash cloth designed to clean children from head to toe in around two minutes, requiring only a splash of water and a towel dry — no bath or shower needed.
  • Each pack contains 20 cloths and retails for $15, with one cloth used for the top half of the body and one for the bottom, making each full clean cost approximately 60 pence.
  • Research cited by the brand found that bath-time battles alone can consume up to 45 minutes per night, equating to 270 hours a year, with over 70% of Australian households with children under five now having two working parents.
  • The cloths are formulated with plant-based cleansers, glycerin, aloe, and chamomile, and have been dermatologist-tested and paediatrician-approved, making them suitable for sensitive or eczema-prone skin as well as children unable to bathe due to illness or injury.
  • Top N Tail™ is the debut product from Melbourne-based company Parent HAX™, founded by mum-of-two Claire Carroll, and is set to launch in Coles stores and online in August 2026.

A new self-foaming wash cloth is promising to end one of the most challenging parts of the day for Aussie parents: bath time. Top N Tail™ is a rinse-free, full-body wash cloth that cleans kids from top to tail in about two minutes flat. No running water, no flooded bathroom floor, and no drawn-out negotiation to get anyone in or out of the tub.

Add a splash of water, give it a squeeze, wash over the skin, towel dry and it's done. No rinse needed. Just fresh, thoroughly clean, hydrated skin to keep little people on the go happy.

They come in a pack of 20 for $15, and as the name suggests, you use one wash cloth for the "top" and another for the "tail" end of your kiddo meaning you have just effectively bathed your kid and saved your sanity for less than $1 (60 cents to be precise!).

It couldn't come at a better time. New research* shows parents are losing more than 3 hours a week to avoidable battles with little kids, from bath time negotiations to bedtime stalling. Bath battles alone can eat up to 45 minutes a night, adding up to 270 hours a year of lost time. That's more than a weekend and a half of someone's life, every year, spent wrangling a toddler into (and out of) the tub.

It's a symptom of a bigger problem. Over 70% of Aussie households with kids under five now have two working parents. Time has become the scarcest resource in the house.

Top N Tail™ is the debut product from new Melbourne business Parent HAX™, founded by mum-of-two Claire Carroll to bring quick-win, time-saving solutions to the daily chaos of raising little kids.

Top N Tail product

"Parents don't need another lecture about screen time or slow mornings," Carroll says. "They need things that actually save them time, without cutting corners on their kids' health and well-being. Top N Tail™ isn't about skipping bathtime forever. It's about having a genuine, dermatologist and paediatrician approved option for situations when bathtime just isn't an option."

Isn't it just a wet wipe? Simple answer: no.

Wet wipes are built for spot cleaning: hands, face, a quick nappy surface clean. Most are water based with a light cleanser, fine for a quick swipe but not built to lift ground-in mess or replace a proper soaped skin wash.

Top N Tail™ formulated with plant-based cleansers, glycerin, aloe and chamomile, is designed to stand in for a full bath rather than a quick surface clean. It's thicker, foamier, and actually cleanses rather than skims the surface, so one cloth does the job of several wipes without a tap or a tub.

It's designed for the nights when real life gets in the way of bathtime, including:

  • Busy parents who can't fit in a bath every single night
  • Families racing between after-school sport, swimming lessons and dinner
  • Camping trips, road trips and days on the go
  • Kids managing eczema-prone or sensitive skin, where less time soaking in hot water can help avoid drying it out further
  • Kids who are sick, in hospital, or recovering from an injury and can't get in a bath or shower at all

That last one is personal for founder Claire. When her youngest son Owen was an infant, he developed a serious bone infection that saw him in and out of Royal Children's Hospital, on IV antibiotics through a PICC line, and later managed through the hospital-in-the-home program. Regular baths and showers simply weren't possible.

"You don't realise how much of parenting is physical logistics until you can't do the basics," Carroll says. "Getting him clean and comfortable without being able to bathe him was one more thing on a very long list. I remember thinking, why doesn't something like this already exist? That period of our lives is a big part of why Parent HAX exists today."

Claire brings 18 years of global experience in children's consumer products to the brand, having held leadership roles at Toy Monster, Moose Toys and Disney. Top N Tail™ has been developed with global product testing partners and dermatologists, is paediatrician approved, and is designed and made in Australia.

Top N Tail™ comes as a 20 pack retailing for $15 and launches on shelf and online at Coles in August 2026. It's the first of a wider Parent HAX range set to roll out over the next 12 months.
