How Australian Tech Startup Cenaris Is Transforming Compliance for NDIS and Healthcare Providers with AI

Key Facts:
  • Cenaris is an Australian compliance technology startup founded by Adam and Natasha, developed after Adam struggled to find a solution that provided real-time compliance visibility, risk assessment, and practical remediation guidance whilst working in compliance and governance at ANSA Health.
  • The platform uses AI specifically trained for the compliance environment, grounding its outputs in an organisation's own documents and evidence rather than general web information, reducing the risk of inaccurate or unsupported AI-generated responses.
  • Cenaris features a Live Overall Audit Readiness Score that brings together compliance requirements, policies, evidence, risks, and remediation activity to give organisations a continuous view of their compliance position.
  • The platform is aimed primarily at NDIS providers and healthcare organisations, which face increasing mandatory regulatory requirements and ongoing reform, helping them move from reactive, last-minute audit preparation to continuous compliance management.
  • The core goal of Cenaris is to reduce the compliance administration burden for providers, saving time and stress so organisations can focus on delivering better quality care.

Australian compliance technology startup Cenaris is pioneering continuous compliance for NDIS and healthcare providers with AI-powered compliance management and its Live Audit Readiness Score — helping organisations understand their compliance position, identify risk and be audit ready every day.

The idea began with a problem co-founder Adam experienced firsthand.

In July 2025, Adam joined ANSA Health and was given responsibility for compliance and governance. He quickly saw how difficult it could be to understand an organisation’s overall compliance position. Policies, documents, evidence and requirements could be reviewed individually, but there was no simple way to see the bigger picture.

Adam began searching for a compliance management solution that could provide a real-time view of overall compliance, risk and audit readiness.

He also wanted more than a dashboard. He wanted AI intelligent enough to identify gaps, assess their significance and explain what needed to be done to remediate them.

After researching solutions available to him, Adam says he couldn’t find one that met his expectations or delivered the combination of real-time compliance visibility, risk assessment and practical remediation guidance he was looking for.

“If the solution doesn’t exist, we should build it.”

Adam shared the problem with his wife and future co-founder, Natasha, who had more than a decade of experience in the software industry.

Her response was simple: build it.

That decision marked the beginning of Cenaris.

The challenge then became building a trustworthy AI for compliance. AI presents enormous opportunities for compliance, but it also introduces a significant challenge when dealing with sensitive organisational information: the risk of inaccurate or unsupported AI-generated answers.

Adam and Natasha wanted Cenaris to take a different approach.

Rather than simply sending compliance information to a general-purpose AI model and returning an answer, Cenaris uses AI that has been specifically trained and developed for the compliance environment. Its intelligence is designed to be grounded in the documents, evidence and information provided within Cenaris, rather than being influenced by information freely available across the web.

This approach is designed to significantly reduce the risk of AI hallucinations and unsupported or inaccurate outputs, an important consideration when organisations are using AI to help manage sensitive compliance obligations and risk.

The aim is to help organisations identify potential compliance gaps, understand their significance and determine what action may be required, while keeping the underlying evidence at the centre of the process.

In compliance, an answer that sounds right isn’t enough. It needs to be grounded in evidence.

From compliance documents to a live audit readiness score

Cenaris brings together compliance requirements, policies, evidence, risks and remediation to provide a broader view of an organisation’s readiness.

Its Live Overall Audit Readiness Score is designed to show organisations where they stand, highlight areas requiring attention and help compliance teams move from reactive preparation to continuous compliance.

This is becoming more important than ever as the NDIS undergoes significant reform and providers face increasing mandatory regulatory requirements. As compliance obligations continue to evolve, organisations need greater visibility of their compliance position and the ability to identify and address gaps before they become problems.

The philosophy is simple:

Don’t wait for an audit to find out if you’re ready. Be audit ready every day.

For NDIS providers, healthcare organisations and other highly regulated businesses, continuous visibility can help replace last-minute audit anxiety with an ongoing approach to compliance and risk management.

The vision behind Cenaris

Cenaris was born from a real-world compliance problem and a search for technology that could solve it better.

Adam’s experience in compliance and governance, combined with Natasha’s software expertise, shaped a vision for compliance technology that is more visible, intelligent and actionable.

The goal is simple: help providers reduce their compliance admin burden, saving time and stress, so they can focus on delivering better quality care.

Cenaris is shaping the future of compliance for NDIS and healthcare providers, helping organisations understand their compliance position, identify risk and take action before gaps become problems.
