SYDNEY (August 04, 2026)—As the New South Wales parliamentary inquiry into dingo management in national parks gets underway, First Nations leaders, conservation advocates and wildlife experts will gather at NSW Parliament for a screening of Dingo: Heart of the Snowy Mountains and to call on parliamentarians to protect dingoes in national parks.

Hosted by Humane World for Animals, Defend the Wild and Dingo Culture, the event will explore the ecological, cultural and conservation significance of dingoes in New South Wales.
The program includes screenings of two short films and presentations from Uncle Lionel Currie, Yugambeh Mununjali and Minjungbal Cultural Custodian; Sonya Grant Takau, Jirrbal Rainforest Aboriginal woman and founder of Dingo Culture and National First Nations Dingo Coordinator; Aunty Jackquline Troy, Ngarigo Cultural Custodian.
The event will provide an opportunity to hear directly from First Nations Cultural Custodians and conservation experts about the role dingoes play in Australia's ecosystems and cultural heritage.
