- SydWest will join academics and advocates at Western Sydney University (WSU) on 28th August to mark World Humanitarian Day, which falls on 19th August.
- The event will bring together leaders to highlight the vital role of grassroots organisations, healthcare workers, and social advocates in supporting vulnerable communities, refugees, and newly arrived migrants.
- The day will feature a panel discussion and innovation pitches from community organisations and students to potential funders.
- Representatives will discuss challenges facing diverse communities, the importance of culturally responsive services, and collaborative strategies to build social resilience across Sydney.
- SydWest is dedicated to supporting culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) individuals and families through settlement services, aged care, disability support, housing support and family and youth programmes.
SydWest will join academics and advocates at Western Sydney University (WSU) tomorrow 28 August, for the Reimagining Humanitarian Action event to observe World Humanitarian Day, which was on August 19.
"Humanitarian work begins in local neighbourhoods," said Clement Meru, Head of Settlement & Multicultural Services at SydWest. "Joining forces with institutions like Western Sydney University allows us to amplify the voices of those who need support and celebrate the extraordinary contributions of frontline staff and aid workers who work tirelessly to support those affected by crises."
