Respect’s portfolio of aged care homes will grow to 48 and retirement livening units to more than 1,100, after taking ownership of Alino Living's Rumbalara House and Adelene Village in Wyoming, NSW.
The transfer covers Rumbalara House, a 49-bed residential aged care home which Respect plans to expand to 90 beds, and Adelene Village, a 106-unit retirement village. Alino Living will retain and continue to operate its three remaining Central Coast aged care homes: Killarney Court, Lake Haven Court and Vietnam Veterans KPVCH.
Alino Living's Board made the decision to transfer both services following a strategic review of the site and future aged care requirements, determining that the scale, financial capacity and aged care expertise of a larger not-for-profit provider was the best way to secure the long-term future of the services.

“Rumbalara House and Adelene Village have been an important part of Alino Living, so this was not a decision we made lightly,” Mr Williams and Mr Dover said.
“We believe Respect is the right organisation to take Rumbalara House and Adelene Village forward. Their values align strongly with ours; they have considerable experience in aged care and retirement living, and importantly, they recognise and respect the history, culture and relationships that have been built within these communities over many years.

We are confident that, as part of Respect, both communities will have the support and investment they need for a strong and sustainable future.”
Respect Managing Director and CEO Jason Binder said the transfer would provide a strong foundation for the long-term future of both Rumbalara House and Adelene Village.
“We’re really pleased to welcome Rumbalara House and Adelene Village to Respect and to continue the work Alino Living has done in supporting older people in the Central Coast community, the same way we have with all other communities that have joined Respect.” Mr Binder said.
“We see a great future for the site. Our intention is to invest in both the aged care home and retirement village, including expanding Rumbalara House from 49 to around 90 beds.
“Alino Living’s Board has been very focused on making sure the site has the investment and scale it needs for the future, and that’s something we’re committed to delivering.”
Current resident agreements, retirement living contracts and fee arrangements will carry over unchanged, and staff will transfer to Respect with entitlements including years of service, leave and superannuation arrangements all preserved.
