Aris Mining Begins Construction of the Puruni Bridge in Guyana

Aris Mining Corporation 5 mins read

The permanent crossing will improve a key logistics link to the Toroparu Gold Project

VANCOUVER, British Columbia--BUSINESS WIRE--

Aris Mining Corporation (Aris Mining or the Company) (TSX: ARIS; NYSE: ARIS) has commenced construction of a permanent bridge across the Puruni River at Puruni Landing in Guyana. The 109-metre modular steel bridge will provide a permanent crossing in addition to the existing pontoon crossing, strengthening an important access route to the Toroparu Gold Project while also improving access for other users of the Puruni corridor.

The bridge is an early infrastructure initiative being advanced by Aris Mining’s Guyana project team while the Toroparu Pre-Feasibility Study (PFS) continues. Toroparu’s planned route includes moving heavy equipment and cargo by barge to Itaballi and then by road to Toroparu, crossing the Puruni River at Puruni Landing.

Neil Woodyer, Chair and CEO of Aris Mining, commented: “With our Guyana project team in place, we are pleased to begin this early infrastructure work while we advance the Toroparu PFS toward completion in Q4 2026. Working in cooperation with the Government of Guyana, we are delivering practical infrastructure that supports Toroparu and provides broader benefits in the region.”

The bridge is expected to improve connectivity for communities, businesses and other users of the Puruni corridor. The permanent crossing will allow heavy industrial traffic to be diverted away from the main community road.

Construction of the bridge is being undertaken by Aris Mining in coordination with the Ministry of Natural Resources, the Ministry of Public Works and other relevant agencies, with completion targeted for December 2026.

About Aris Mining

Aris Mining is a Canadian gold mining company focused on South America. The Company operates the Segovia and Marmato underground gold mines in Colombia, which together produced approximately 257,000 ounces of gold in 2025. Aris Mining is listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the New York Stock Exchange under the symbol ARIS.

The Company is advancing expansion projects at Segovia and Marmato that are expected to increase annual gold production to approximately 500,000 ounces1, driven by the ramp-up at Segovia following the installation of the second mill which was completed in June 2025, and construction of the new Marmato bulk mine and CIP plant, with first gold expected in Q4 2026.

Aris Mining’s portfolio supports a longer-term objective of approximately 1 million ounces of annual gold production2. Key projects include the high-grade Soto Norte gold project in Colombia and the Toroparu gold project in Guyana, where a Prefeasibility Study is in progress and a construction decision is expected in early 2027.

1 Reflects expected steady-state annual gold production of approximately 300 thousand ounces (koz) at Segovia and 200 koz at Marmato following completion and ramp-up of the respective expansion projects. For more information, please refer to the Company’s news releases dated June 30, 2025 regarding the Segovia expansion and March 12, 2025 regarding the Marmato expansion.

2 Includes potential production estimates from Toroparu, which is based on a preliminary economic assessment effective October 21, 2025, which contemplates a 7.0 Mtpa operation over a 21.3-year mine life with average annual gold production of approximately 235 koz at a base case gold price of US$3,000/oz. The preliminary economic assessment is preliminary in nature and includes inferred mineral resources that are considered too speculative geologically to have the economic considerations applied to them that would enable them to be categorized as mineral reserves, and there is no certainty that the preliminary economic assessment will be realized. Mineral resources that are not mineral reserves do not have demonstrated economic viability. There can be no assurance that the projected production will be achieved. Such production also remains subject to obtaining all necessary permits and to formal construction decisions by the Company, in each case for both Soto Norte and Toroparu.

Tasmania’s salmon industry must be held accountable under animal welfare law

MEDIA RELEASE TASMANIA'S SALMON INDUSTRY MUST BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE UNDER ANIMAL WELFARE LAW Animals Australia has lodged formal complaints with Biosecurity Tasmania calling for an immediate investigation into potential breaches of Tasmania's Animal Welfare Act across the state's salmon farming industry. The extensive complaints concern both the treatment of farmed Atlantic salmon and the suffering and deaths of seals, dolphins, seabirds and other wildlife impacted by salmon farming operations. “The salmon industry does not have an exemption from Tasmania's Animal Welfare Act. Yet it appears to have been treated as though it does,” said Animals Australia’s Legal Counsel, Shatha Hamade.…

Opposition to critical minerals an issue for VIC election – but are the parties listening?

Across north western Victoria, massive critical minerals developments threaten farming, landscapes, local economies and ground and water supplies. There are five main projects currently planned. More than 42,000 hectares of farm land are currently under retention licences. There are also legacy issues from older projects, which have not been properly rehabilitated. And in the east, Gippsland Critical Minerals is developing the Fingerboards Project, which will have an enormous impact on an important food bowl, right next to the Mitchell River. In recent months, Friends of the Earth campaigners have been visiting the regions and listening to farming communities to better…
