Dementia Australia supports Clare, SA

Are you concerned about your memory or worried that someone you know may have dementia? Dementia Australia is offering support in Clare, South Australia, between 13 October and 17 December 2026.

 

It is estimated there are almost 35,800 people living with dementia in South Australia. Without a medical breakthrough this number is expected to increase to more than 55,600 people living with dementia by 2054. 

 

The Dementia Australia sessions are an opportunity for people living with dementia, their carers, family, and friends to attend free education to better understand dementia and to discuss the support and services Dementia Australia can provide. Please note, bookings are essential. 

 

 
Supporting Someone Living with Dementia at Ageing Well

Join us for a relaxed and practical session for people living with dementia, family members, and carers. We’ll explore practical ways to understand and respond to changes in behaviour, communicate more effectively, look after yourself as a carer, and know when and where to ask for help.

Understanding Dementia

This session provides an introduction to dementia including an overview of different types of dementia, diagnosis, planning ahead and how to support someone living with dementia.

Essentials Day

Come and say hello to Dementia Australia at Clare Essentials Day! We will be there to provide information, resources and support for people living with dementia, their families and carers. Drop by our stand to learn more about dementia, discover the support available, and have a chat with our team.

Carer Wellness Session

This session focuses on the health and wellbeing of those involved in caring for a person living with dementia, whether they live with you or elsewhere. Carers may include partners, family members and friends. 
Tuesday 19 November, 9:30am-3pm ACDT, Clare SA

 

EDIE for family carers
This session enhances knowledge of dementia through virtual reality technology that allows participants to see the world through the eyes of a person living with dementia. 
Tuesday 17 December, 1pm-4pm ACDT, Clare SA
