Athol cowboy claims back-to-back victories and sixth win of 2026 as national title race explodes with just 60 days until the Grand Finals
The hottest cowboy in Australian bull riding has done it again. Queensland’s Zane Hall has claimed back-to-back PBR Australia victories, winning the Monster Energy Tour Coffs Harbour Invitational on Saturday night and, in the process, surging into the No.1 position in the race for the 2026 Australian PBR Championship.

Just one week after a perfect 3-for-3 performance delivered victory at Hawkesbury, the Athol cowboy backed it up in Coffs Harbour, covering both his bulls for a 167.90-point aggregate and collecting another 262 national points.
The result gives Hall his sixth event win of the season and, crucially, sends him past reigning Australian Champion Kurt Shephard at the top of the leaderboard.
Hall now leads the Australian standings on 2,238 points, just 35 points ahead of Shephard on 2,203, while Brazilian star Keny Roger de Oliveira remains third on 1,849.
With the PBR Australia Grand Finals in Townsville now just over 60 days away, suddenly there is virtually nothing between the two Queensland cowboys chasing the most prestigious buckle in Australian bull riding.
Hall opened his Coffs Harbour campaign with an 81.70-point ride Gyppo, finishing fourth in Round 1, before producing the ride that won him the event — 86.20 points aboard Road Rage in Round 2. That score tied for the highest ride of the round with Victorian Sam Woodall, who matched Hall with 86.20 aboard BJ.
Woodall’s big finish propelled the Heywood, Victoria cowboy into second place overall, while Shephard recovered from an opening-round buck-off to ride Maisy Mouse for 85.30 points and finish third. New Zealand’s Rylee Ward finished fourth after an 84.80-point trip aboard Little Scar Maker.
Fifth place went to Queensland’s Bailey Woodard, who had set the early benchmark by winning Round 1 with 84.40 points aboard Mood Swing. NSW’s Clint Glass continued his strong run with sixth overall after scoring 83.40 on Cohens Tequila, while fellow NSW riders Ashton Sweeney, Jack Rowlandson and Daniel Rogan finished seventh, eighth and ninth respectively.
The bulls were every bit as rank as advertised. Stetson Nirvana from Dittmann Bucking Bulls produced the highest bull score of the event, marked an imposing 43.90 points after dispatching Rylee Ward in 5.67 seconds, another statement performance from one of the standout bovine athletes of the season.

The Monster Energy Tour continues to Orange THIS WEEKEND, September 19, before the season rolls through its October events and ultimately into the PBR Australia Grand Finals at the Townsville Entertainment & Convention Centre on November 13 and 14.
