Hospitality Group Behind Some of Queensland’s Most Iconic Venues Brings Coyote’s Roadhouse to Ocean Street

Coyote's Roadhouse 2 mins read

One of South East Queensland's most regarded hospitality venue operators, Hallmark Hospitality, has announced plans for its second Sunshine Coast venue, Coyote’s Roadhouse, a country-and western themed, live-music bar which is expected to open on Ocean Street Maroochydore in late September this year.

Hallmark Hospitality’s previous portfolio has included Lefty’s Music Hall on Caxton Street and The Lord Alfred Hotel, along with Finn McCool’s Irish Bar, Hey Chica and Retro’s Nightclub in Brisbane; Finn McCool’s Irish Bar, Retro’s Nightclub and Sandbar on the Gold Coast; and The Spotted Cow Hotel in Toowoomba. The group’s newest additions include Gas Hound Bar & Kitchen in Newstead, Pop World Nightclub in Fortitude Valley and Foxy Malone’s Irish Pub in Mooloolaba.

Cade Hopman, Director at Hallmark Hospitality, said Coyote’s Roadhouse will be a full-blown, live music country and western saloon bar located at the entrance to Big Top Shopping Centre on Ocean Street.

"We're currently redesigning the exterior and interior to give it an authentic country and western feel complete with two live music stages and the capacity to host up to 500 people. The entertainment doesn't stop at the live stages; we will also have a dedicated Games Hall which will house the venue's signature mechanical bull alongside country-themed pinball machines and the old pub classic, Ring the Bull’," Mr Hopman said.

The interior is being brought to life by award winning Gold Coast based Space Cubed Design Studio, which is leading the complete fit-out design, along with furniture and lighting procurement for the venue.

Interior Designer Amanda Holloway said the design vision for the venue was to bring all the best elements of the country to one of the Sunshine Coast’s leading entertainment precincts.

"Inspired by country towns, rodeo culture and warm, unpretentious outback hospitality, Coyote’s Roadhouse offers an authentic country experience reimagined for the Sunshine Coast's relaxed coastal setting. A palette of rustic finishes and handcrafted details creates a space that feels warm, rugged and welcoming, whilst interactive experiences bring energy and personality to the venue, encouraging guests to embrace their inner cowboy or cowgirl."

A layered materials palette of reclaimed timber, aged corrugated metal, worn leather, cowhide and blackened steel creates an interior that feels rustic, tactile and authentically country. Vintage signage, rodeo memorabilia and mounted horns reinforce the country spirit throughout the venue, giving the space a genuine sense of authenticity.

The venue will bring country and western entertainment in spades, with two stages for live country music, plenty of room for dancing, and enough entertainment options to keep the most hardened city slicker occupied well into the night, including electronic darts, pool tables and a Big Buck Hunter arcade game. Country-inspired drinks and a smokehouse-themed menu round out the offering.

Coyote’s Roadhouse joins a growing wave of new energy at Big Top Shopping Centre and on Ocean Street, with Hallmark Hospitality confident it will play a part in drawing locals and visitors back to the precinct for a night out.
