A seven-part auction series featuring the private collection of businessman, media personality, former Geelong Mayor and global “Mr. Paparazzi” Darryn Lyons is set to go under the hammer through Lloyds Auctions, with everything from supercars and luxury watches to designer fashion, antiques, wine, fine art and memorabilia to be offered online from $1.

Led by Lyons’ Lamborghini Diablo, rare Ferrari Spider and a broad mix of luxury, celebrity-linked and personal collectables, the offering is one of the most diverse single-owner collections to come to market through Lloyds Auctions. The collection spans decades of buying and collecting across London, Paris, Saint-Tropez, New York, Dubai, Africa and Australia.

The collection has been assembled clearly reflecting Lyons’ long association with celebrity culture, luxury assets, elite sport, international travel and high-profile social circles. The auction series brings together personal collectables, estate pieces and high-interest luxury items in what is one of the more diverse private collections to come to market through Lloyds Auctions.

“This is the kind of collection that draws attention because it crosses so many worlds at once, cars, celebrity culture, fashion, sport, antiques and personal history,” said Lee Hames, Chief Operations Officer, Lloyds Auctions.

“Darryn Lyons has lived a highly public life, but these items provide another layer of context around the people, places and experiences that shaped it. What makes it interesting is not just the brands or the asset types, but the stories behind how the pieces were acquired and the life they reflect,” continued Mr. Hames.

The auction series has been divided into seven themed sales covering furniture, antiques, books and ornaments, watches and jewellery, designer bags, fashion and accessories, collectable cars, wine and alcohol, and fine art, photography and memorabilia.

At the centre of the collection is Lyons’ Lamborghini Diablo, a car tied to a lifelong ambition that began in childhood, alongside a champagne-gold Ferrari Spider acquired during his years in London. The wider offering also includes watches from Rolex, Franck Muller and Jacob & Co, designer items from Louis Vuitton, Dior, Cartier and Balenciaga, signed sporting memorabilia, photography collectables, antiques and luxury entertaining pieces.

From motorsport and music to sport and television, the collection includes items and stories connected to figures such as Bernie Ecclestone, Simon Cowell, Shane Warne and David Beckham.

“Private collections like this create public interest because they offer a window into a life that people feel they already know, but rarely get to see in this detail,” Hames said.

“In this case, the material ranges from high-end vehicles and fashion through to memorabilia, decorative pieces and items connected to Darryn Lyons’ years in media, business and public life.”

The catalogue also reflects Lyons’ long association with international media and entertainment circles, with stories throughout the collection linked to celebrity, motorsport, sport, travel and photography. Rather than a single auction, the sale has been structured to allow collectors, enthusiasts and general buyers to engage with a huge selection of items on offer across different categories within the collection.

The Living Estate of Darryn Lyons will go under the hammer at Lloyds Auctions  www.lloydsauctions.com.au/mrpaparazzi with every lot starting from $1. Bidding and registrations are now open.
