Living Planit Training enters a new era under Syncorana ownership
Registered Training Organisation Living Planit is changing its trading name to Dreamtime Institute of Training and Management (Dreamtime Training) with an added focus on Indigenous education, leadership, construction and employment pathways.
Living Planit (RTO 40552) has been in operation since 2012 providing quality vocational training to students across New South Wales. It has now entered a new chapter following its majority acquisition by the Syncorana Group.
The change represents more than a new name. Dreamtime Training is implementing a strengthened Indigenous-focused education and workforce development strategy designed to connect training with employment, leadership development, housing and long-term economic participation.
Dreamtime Training forms part of the broader Syncorana group which has a key objective that includes improving social and economic outcomes for Indigenous Australians through education, employment, housing, business development and community partnerships.
The new strategy is built around two key priorities:
- Indigenous leadership and organisational capability, supporting Indigenous organisations, businesses and community-controlled organisations to strengthen leadership, governance, workforce capability and organisational performance.
- Indigenous housing and construction workforce development, creating pathways into construction careers while supporting the broader Syncorana Housing Program.
The strategy is designed to provide Indigenous jobseekers and workers with practical pathways into construction, including potential opportunities associated with residential housing.
Dreamtime Training's workforce strategy is closely aligned with Syncorana's Housing Program, which aims to support quality and affordable housing while creating sustainable employment opportunities for Australians.
The recently announced joint venture partnership between Syncorana and Steco Centar - a leading European manufacturer of prefabricated housing – is to establish an advanced manufacturing facility and training centre of excellence in New South Wales, Australia. This landmark initiative provides an opportunity to connect training with modern methods of construction and potential skilled employment pathways within the future manufacturing and construction industry.
A further addition to Dreamtime Training is the unique Indigenous leadership development through the Gongan Leadership Series. Developed by Bundjalung elder and Indigenous business adviser Rod Williams, the Gongan Leadership Framework brings Indigenous knowledge together with contemporary leadership practice, providing practical approaches to leadership, governance, relationships and organisational culture.
Dreamtime Training's leadership programs are designed to support emerging leaders, supervisors, managers and community leaders across Indigenous organisations, government, corporate and community environments.
