Media and industry partners including oOh!media, EAR Studio and ARN’s GOLD Network are backing Head and Neck Cancer Australia’s Lend Your Voice campaign, providing in-kind support to help promote its $1 million fundraising appeal.
Launching ahead of The Songs of John Farnham: A Living Legend, A Celebration Concert on Sunday 20 September, the activity includes Out of Home, radio and creative industry support, encouraging Australians to donate.
The charity aims to raise $1 million to support people affected by head and neck cancer.
EAR Studio has developed the campaign creative, which will be amplified through media support from oOh!media and ARN’s GOLD Network.
The Out of Home campaign is running across oOh!media’s national Office and Retail network, while ARN’s GOLD Network, which reaches 2.3 million listeners nationally, is providing community service announcements and in-show activity on the Christian O’Connell and Jonesy & Amanda national shows.
More than 5,600 Australians are diagnosed with head and neck cancer every year, and around 18,000 are living with its long-term impacts.
The charity’s Lend Your Voice campaign is proudly supported by a significant contribution associated with The Songs of John Farnham: A Living Legend, A Celebration Concert. Produced by Cochrane Entertainment and TEG Dainty, the concert is helping raise awareness of head and neck cancer and inspiring Australians to lend their voice to this important cause.
Australians are invited to build on this remarkable contribution through individual giving, community fundraising and business support, while partners’ in-kind contributions help promote the campaign and reach potential supporters.
Head and Neck Cancer Australia Chief Executive Officer Nadia Rosin said the support demonstrated the difference the media and marketing industry could make to a national charity.
“Our media and industry partners are helping us put head and neck cancer in front of audiences we could not otherwise reach. Their support gives us an opportunity to explain the impact of this disease and ask Australians to help,” Ms Rosin said.
“We are grateful to the partners lending their platforms, skills and time to help more Australians understand head and neck cancer and the need to support people affected by it.”
Funds raised will help Head and Neck Cancer Australia provide free access to specialist nurses, counselling and trusted information, while strengthening advocacy for earlier diagnosis, better care and improved outcomes.
“John Farnham’s openness about his experience has helped bring attention to a disease that can have profound and lasting effects,” Ms Rosin said.
“Our partners are helping us build on that awareness. Over the next year, we want to turn it into ongoing support for patients and families, and we welcome other organisations that would like to get involved.”
