Community organisations across Australia and New Zealand will have the opportunity to share in a record $750,000 in funding through the Bupa Foundation’s Community Grants Program, boosting initiatives that help support local health programs, community building and environmental conservation.
Since launching in 2019, the Bupa Foundation’s Community Grants Program has committed more than $2.5 million to organisations across Australia and New Zealand that are helping improve health outcomes and create more connected, resilient and sustainable communities.
Bronwyn Portes, Bupa APAC Director of Social Impact and Sustainability, said the expanded program reflects Bupa’s commitment to supporting grassroots organisations delivering meaningful local impact
“As a health and care company, we know we can’t create healthier communities on our own. Real change happens when businesses, community organisations and local leaders roll up their sleeves and work together on practical initiatives.
“That’s why we’re proud to be increasing both the size of our grant pool and the value of individual grants this year. We want to help community organisations take their impact further, whether that’s supporting mental wellbeing, strengthening social connections, improving physical health, or helping people and nature thrive together,” Ms Portes said.
Previous grant recipients have included organisations such as the Legacy Club of Brisbane, Delta Therapy Dogs and Waipuna Hospice, alongside dozens of other community groups delivering positive outcomes for people and the environment.
“The introduction of larger grants of up to $50,000 is designed to help organisations scale successful programs, expand their reach and create lasting impact in the communities they serve.
“Across Australia and New Zealand, there are countless community-led initiatives making a real difference every day in metropolitan areas but also in remote regions, First Nations communities and amongst veterans. We encourage eligible organisations to apply and share their vision for creating healthier communities,” Ms Portes said.
